Our panelists will include:

Erin Smith, Vice President, MMI Public Relations
Erin Smith specializes in event planning and management, media relations, brand strategy and advertising campaign development. She leads integrated communications campaigns for MMI’s clients in higher education, healthcare, technology, entertainment and hospitality, among others. As the account lead for many of MMI’s emerging growth and large B2B and B2C brands, she makes national product launches, retail grand opening events and charity partnerships. Prior to joining MMI, Erin was an account manager for Sinclair & Co. in Raleigh, N.C., and an account executive with Aigner/Prensky Marketing Group in Boston. She received her Bachelor of Science in communications, with a concentration in public relations, and in Spanish language and literature from NC State University.

Phil Stephens, Director of Client Services and Partner, Signal Design
Phil Stephens brings more than 30 years of marketing, sales, print production and project management experience to the Signal team. Phil joined Signal in 2005 to develop new business in the Raleigh studio and now serves as Vice President, Client Services, managing key accounts and strategic partnerships. Phil is passionate about customer experience (CX), and he believes that every interaction with Signal is a concerted application of our collective skills and innovation. He enjoys reading, hiking and playing golf. Phil earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Lynchburg College in his hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Elaine Loyack, Director of Community and Public Relations, Delta Dental of NC
Elaine joined Delta Dental of North Carolina in March 2015 as director of community and public relations. Her experience spans multiple sectors and topics, including outdoor air quality education with Triangle Air Awareness and Environmental Defense, perinatal wellness with HealthyMoms, which she owned, and accounting and operations with World Wildlife Fund serving its offices in Sub-Saharan Africa, Nepal and Bhutan.

Elaine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with a minor in French, from Wake Forest University and a Master of Business Administration in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management. A former Girl Scout leader and advisor, she now serves on the Girl Scout-North Carolina Coastal Pines Gold Award Committee. She is an alumna of Leadership North Carolina’s Class XXI and Class XXII’s Program Chair and serves on the Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of Directors of SAFEchild, the only child abuse prevention agency serving Wake County.
